Where Are You Going?

travelling In the poetics of transgender, a book with many chapters, the taxi is a locus classicus. It’s where we find ourselves, travelling but enclosed. Travelling and enclosed. It’s a place of isolation and a moment of belonging, belonging to ourselves. The city passes in review and we gather ourselves for the future, for our appearance onstage, our entry. It’s the least we owe ourselves. How else should we, the special ones, how else should we travel?
