beginning
When did the Mona Lisa begin? Not with Leonardo certainly. With the birth of the woman? No, not that. With the invention of painting? No, neither. With the development of the organic eye?
Oh, we’re missing the point here. Something begins when somebody notices. And that’s the same for us. The trans we are was coming down the line for, well, forever, and one day we said, Ah, there you are, and the work of art began.
Creation – the seed, the twinkle in the mind, the itch – followed by the playing and the gathering of material – then the idea, which becomes the work, in progress – a first appearance, - complete for now, for many people to see their own versions of – after that, barring natural catastrophes, say hello to posterity. Somewhere in the cosmos our previous selves are fading from us – but not from themselves.
I can’t tell you when I began, but the first thing I noticed was another trans, so get out there and help someone else to begin.
