Trans with more than a touch of Mancunian class. Did I really pay £60 for my ticket? Knowing me, probably not. I don't remember much about the actual event, what "best frock" I wore, or how it all turned out, but it didn't suddenly usher in an era of big trans balls, so maybe we are naturally trashier - or queerer - than people thought.
