TNUK - A digest
Introduction
Back in 2004 I came across a regular online news digest for trans news called "TNUK". It being 2004 and me being me I printed off the reports (I may have been printing them off on an office printer at some workplace I was in) and I kept them festering in folders until I started creating this site. When I try Googling up "TNUK" I can't find any trace. What actually was it? And I can't remember why I stopped collecting the reports - did the enterprise fold?
Now I find them of great interest. I have reports from just 7 months of news – and so much of transgender happened in that period. God knows, - what was a steady flow then would be a torrent now. Who could compile it? Or maybe somebody does.
I believe in the world, the big perspective on our concerns and preoccupations – what can we know about ourselves without knowing about all this? The range of journalism in these articles is very wide, reflecting the various attitudes to trans around the world. The stories fascinate me.
What happened to it all - was it archived?
I still have the folders - far too much information to include in this site. Here anyway is a headline digest of 2004 - read and marvel at our innate diversity. And our wonderful ubiquity
