Alright, Queen?
majesty
Once a queen, always a queen? Not necessarily. You can be royal but you play a queen, - to the hilt usually. Glory and majesty and high status is something you have to assume. Yes, assume, with a long vowel. Assuume.
I assumed the role of Queen Of Culture for a year, but I played it down mostly. That’s me, I guess – more being than doing. I have always felt myself part of the aristocracy though, eminent and stylish, a cut above. And I have been a Drag Queen, walked the walk, walked the Pride, the Mardi Gras.
Read my text, though and you’ll know that I play on the wing not in the scrum. Mine is a particular kind of majesty, you know?
