"Gender Critical = Gender Conservative" - Sarah K Ahmed

This blog will repay a full careful reading (and maybe re-reading) not just because it offers a trans-positive perspective on the academic gender-war, but also because it pulls distance on the very idea of basing anti-trans arguments on purely academic debates and/or non-academic defensive prejudice. It lines up a relateable common-sense against the pseudo-common sense of media commentarists. I have not read more of Sarah Ahmed but now I intend to, and it is a welcome experience to read a feminist bringing a thoughtful analysis to bear on gender-critical assertions, and examining the basis of true gender-radicalism. It will take up your time to do these thoughts justice but if you need to argue for trans you'll find this extremely useful.
