"Boxing to introduce transgender category as rules laid out in new proposal for 2023"

For I/myself/we this seems to be a fair resolution, but then I am nobody's idea of a sports fan, and have never quite understood why sportistas have to compete to be best. Isn't a bit of heavy sparring enough? or beating a record? I guess it beats joining the army, though that probably has more team-spirit about it. Well, anyway, who wouldn't want a tournament of their own?
